The story
Osteria Gilberto is named after Gilberto, a man born in Livorno, Tuscany, whose life was defined by hard work, discipline and an appreciation for the simple things done well.
His story became the inspiration for a restaurant built around those same values: honest cooking, quality ingredients, generosity and hospitality.
Osteria Gilberto is our way of bringing a piece of that Italian heritage to Chicago — not by recreating the past, but by carrying its spirit forward.
